dream art – Night Change

About a week ago, I had a dream that I was travelling through Europe with a group of artists. We were putting up art installations and exhibits in a series of European cities, but there was one city I wasn’t familiar with – Maron. I thought it was in France but turned out to be in northern Africa. The dream included a map with lines drawn showing the route of our tour, so I was surprised to see the route deviate to Africa.  In real life, I am not familiar with this place, but in fact there is  Maron in France and another in Egypt, among other places.

In another part of the dream, I was in the gallery. The light was very low and some of the art works were glowing. A patron came up to me, noticed the glow paint on my face, and said that I must be the artist for this exhibit. I said yes. The only item that appeared with any clarity in the dream was a long piece of wood, something like an African mask.

This is connected to a number of different things…the idea of glow items came up in connection with a new year’s party, and I have been asked to participate in the Ceredigion Art Trail this year, which I am very pleased about.

So my current thoughts, percolating about, are how to create art using glow-in-the-dark paint, and what would that mean? I’ve been spending a lot of time lately thinking about myth and folk tales, so this all ties together. And I retained some nice dry branches from an art project a number of years ago, so this may be what I was holding onto them for. Anyway, might do something about this.
